This walking tour takes you from Shrewsbury Castle to the Darwin’s Gate sculpture in the centre of the town’s shopping district. Along the way, I’ll tell you about the town’s Anglo-Saxon origins, of Shakespearean characters such as Harry Hotspur and Prince Hal who feature in the history of Shrewsbury, and how the town prospered as a major centre for trading Welsh cloth. Hear about the folk-song ‘Brave Benbow’ praising local hero, Admiral Benbow, and learn how Shrewsbury became host to the world’s longest-running flower festival.

Journey back in time on a self-guided tour around Cirencester, the Capital of the Cotswolds and once the second largest town in Roman Britain. I'll show you the town's main sites, reveal the myths that surround it and share its lesser-known history. You'll also hear how a Danish king is rumoured to have used flaming sparrows to capture the town.So join me to hear the town's tall tales and find its historical hotspots! 

Starting in front of Ludlow Castle, you'll be guided around the town, down Broad Street, through the Whitcliffe Common Nature Reserve and over the Dinham Bridge.
